Crash games explained: how they work and when to cash out
· 5 min read
In a crash game a multiplier starts at 1.00x and rises until it crashes at a random point. If you cash out before the crash, you win your bet times the multiplier on screen. If the crash comes first, the bet is lost. In Rocket the whole round plays out in seconds; in Limbo you name your target and the result is drawn instantly.
What are the chances?
The chance of reaching a multiplier falls as the target rises. In Limbo the chance of reaching a target is 99% divided by the target. Rocket also crashes at 1.00x in 1 round out of 100, so its chances are slightly lower.
| Target | Limbo | Rocket |
|---|---|---|
| 1.5x | 66% | 65.3% |
| 2x | 49.5% | 49% |
| 5x | 19.8% | 19.6% |
| 10x | 9.9% | 9.8% |
| 100x | 0.99% | 0.98% |
Is there a crash strategy?
Every round is independent, and the house edge is the same on every target. Cashing out at 1.5x wins often and pays little; waiting for 10x wins rarely and pays a lot. Over time both return the same share of your bets, so strategies that raise the bet after a loss only make sessions swingier.
Use auto cash out
Set an auto cash out before the round starts and the bet cashes out the moment the rocket reaches it, even if you are too slow to press the button. It is the easiest way to stick to a plan.
- Pick a target and a budget before you start.
- Use auto cash out instead of reacting in the moment.
- Take a break after a big win or a losing run.
- Never chase losses with bigger bets.
